In a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Software AG titled “The Total Economic Impact (TEI) of Maintaining Adabas and Natural,” Forrester interviewed four Software AG customers. As a result of their financial analysis, Forrester calculated that the risk-adjusted ROI for maintaining and possibly upgrading Adabas and Natural, vs. replacement alternatives, was 331 percent over five years. The study also drew this conclusion: “By maintaining and perhaps upgrading Adabas systems and applications created with Natural, existing customers possess options for creating additional business value from modernization initiatives and service-oriented architecture (SOA) projects.”
